My BEFORE Shot...

My BEFORE Shot - oh sweet Lord...

I have been at war with my weight for the last nine years. I won, it won, I won, it won, it won, it won. Let's just say that it's been winning for a while. I figure that I am due for a win now. I've had two kids and don't plan on having any more (the natural way at least) and therefore have no discouragement/excuse in my way. I am tired of not being able to wear clothes that I like. Some people say that they want to be healthy... I'm not going to lie. I want to be SKINNIER!

I'm not sure why I have decided to make my battle public. I guess I want encouragement and want to provide some encouragement to anyone else out there trying to shed some poundage. So I will share with you a little bit of my journey as I try for a win.

So... I joined Weight Watchers two weeks ago with my supportive husband and a good friend and I have to say (knock on wood) that it hasn't been too horrific. It is great to have the support and have someone to call when I want to stress eat. It is so nice to share in the tiny victories that come along the way.

I would love any helpful hints to leading the thinner life!

Wanna join my running group? We can talk about vampires the whole time to distract us.

Good for you, Marisa! You can do it!

Way to go...you CAN do it and you HAVE already. In fact I should have told you how beautiful you looked on Friday. Sweats and all mind you. Seriously, I truly got in the car and thought...why didn't I tell her that? So here I pathetically tell you two days later...you so pretty! Keep it up! :)

Good for you Marisa! I am so inspired by people who make healthy life changes!! Right before we moved here I got serious about diet and exercise and lost 20lbs. I then got pregnant and gained all of it plus 24 more back and am now struggling to get it off again.

Anyway, all that to say way to go! You can do it and I'm here to support you anyway I can!

You can do it, Marisa! I am in the same boat right now too. I can't wait til my belly heals and these darn feet start functioning the way they're supposed to.

I know you can do it...you're strong like that.

I agree with Jenna...I think you are gorgeous.

I'm VERY impressed with the progress you've made so far. You know, it only takes 2 weeks to form a habit...so, you should be good! Here's to celery and cucumbers. :)

Marisa, you're so great!
(Davy here!)
I love your honesty in saying 'forget healthy, just get me skinny!'!! But I must say just honestly, from my own long personal battles, that if seeing the scale change is the main goal you're focused on, and instant gratification doesn't come right away, you're walking into a text book case of why people give up after 3 starving weeks! I know you know this, and I agree that knowing it in your head still doesn't make health look much more desireable than skinnyness! But it's worth thinking more about, so I just had to say it!
Also, EAT, EAT, EAT!! Eat small, smart, often, slowly, enjoy it, eat the things you love PLUS the things you know you should love, or else a good nutrition plan won't last! And I do best when I try to eat often enough and plan ahead so I'm never really hungry and therefore never really full. Just a happy medium where your metabolism really gets cooking! I love you and support you and am just as proud of you in this as I am of Jodie in her running! Keep blogging your journey and sharing the 'nuggets' you learn from WW! And I do totally endorse that program, after maybe 10 years of my own quest, plus 4 years of training and watching all the crazy things my clients try and believe in, WW is the smartest and seems best for long term results and committment! You go Marisa!!
